Academy // Mirth Connect On-the-Job

This one-day training course is an ideal opportunity to further deepen your knowledge of Mirth Connect and interoperability.

Our experienced staff will take you through the finer details for processing and stocking data, database transformations, etc. Moreover, during the training you can learn from the experiences of colleagues in other healthcare organisations.

On the programme:

Session 1 – Editing, filtering & creating messages in JavaScript
> You will get an overview of common HL7 V2 transformations, and learn how to master them through exercises.
> Cheat sheet.
Session 2 – Storing data in Mirth Connect
> You will get insight into the different Mirth Connect Maps and the power of these key-value pairs.
Session 3 – DestinationSet Filter
> You will learn to use the DestinationSet filter, which filters destinations in the source. This has an impact on message storage.
Session 4 – Bulk processing of data
> You will get an introduction to bulk processing (batch processing), in which one large file containing multiple messages is read and processed.
> This session includes exercises on HL7 batch file, XML batch file.
Session 5 – HTTP REST communication
> We will explore support for HTTP REST services via Mirth Connect.
Session 6 – Database interaction
> You will learn how to enrich messages with additional information based on database queries, and how to write messages to external databases.

Practical information

Who is this training for?

You have followed the basic training (whether this year or in the past) or you have at least half a year of experience with Mirth Connect, including setting up channels.

More specifically, you need to have the following skills:

You have mastered the basic functions for managing Mirth Connect (search, reprocess, etc.).
You can use a File Reader/Writer.
You have previously configured a TCP listener/sender.
You understand channel-to-channel communication (Channel Writer/Reader).
You have experience with Java scripting (used during the exercises).
