The East-Limburg Hospital rationalises EAI solutions with Mirth and Amaron

At the end of 2014, the East-Limburg Hospital decided to rationalise its existing Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) solutions. At the time, about 100 endpoints were being serviced by two products which primarily guaranteed report transformation within the various types of HL7 flows (patient information, results).

Solution
The hospital quickly selected Mirth as its middleware solution. Since the migration lead time was limited and new applications were supposed to become available soon, the hospital decided to call on external expertise. Due to its extensive experience with Mirth in the hospital world, Amaron seemed the ideal partner for this extensive project.
Over a period of 5 months at a rate of one day a week, the migration was completed and new applications, such as urgent care registration and quality tracking at the pain clinic, could be rolled out.

Results
Today, 135 endpoints are being serviced, including important new applications such as a patient data management system for critical services.
With a relatively limited configuration of 8 GB memory and 2 virtual processors, Mirth supports all the necessary transport protocols (HL7, HTTP, HTTPS, SOAP, XML).
